The Little FWRR

September 29, 2012  CPHS Un-Meeting, Walt Disney World

"The Little FWRR" was on display for the Disney Railroads "Train Show" for the CPHS Un-Meeting at the Wilderness Lodge in the Carolwood Pacific Room in the Disney Vacation Club building at Walt Disney World.

This year the Un-Meeting featured a mini-train show all day on Saturday.

If you missed our train show, you also missed out on some good cake, kindly provided by David Leaphart.

Here is David in his engineer outfit, standing next to a vest full of train related pins, displayed by John Bailey.

John Bailey also had a display of unique Disney train items, including Michael Broggie's famous book.

David also created and provided a very nice video about Disney trains around the world.

David also had a display featuring his three wonderful books about the Fort Wilderness Railroad.

Mike Chapin, from Massachusetts, had this video, shot by Tom Caron, and photos of his extensive layout of the Magic Kingdom, in his home. Unfortunately, he couldn't bring it to the show.

Mike also had a layout with HO and N scale trains, and a great model of Walt's Barn.

Here is a close up picture of Mike's barn, which he brought knocked-down in his suitcase!

Michael Broggie brought an extensive collection of pins and other Disney memorabilia, some of which he had for sale. Michael is the son of Roger Broggie, Disney legend, and first Imagineer. Michael is third from the right in this photo.

This is a photo of Michael's collection.

"The Little FWRR" was set up in the middle of the Carolwood Pacific Room. This angle shows the electronics, except for the laptop computer.

I finally finished the Gateway Depot, complete with signs and interior lights.

Here is the FWRR train at the Depot.

The most rewarding part is seeing that in this day of video games and personal electronics, kids still get a kick out of a good old model railroad (although it is controlled by a computer!).
